Physical Models Architecture, Residential Design Four-unit residential building intended for San Juan, Puerto Rico. Designed with another student with consideration for the site’s drainage, climate and sunlight exposure. Shared pool on the other side of a bioswale. I constructed the model with foam board, paper and paint. Existing aerial view (left) and my re-design (right) of a student housing complex at Utah State University. The site has a cafeteria that faces the central lawn. My plan added plantings around the outdoor eating area in front. My plan called for the center of one the buildings to be rebuilt as an atrium (left). This would make a visual connection from the bus stop on the other side to the activity in the communal areas inside the complex. The road accessing an existing parking lot (right) was reconfigured to encourage drivers to slow down in a place where many students are crossing.
